Texting is a fantastic invention. It has brought a lot of new acronyms into our common vernacular, like "LOL" for laughing out loud, "TTYL" for Talk to you later, and of course, the ubiquitous "OMGIJCIMGDBIWT". Don't know that last one? It's "Oh my God, I just crashed into my garage door because I was texting", and if you think that's too uncommon to be useful, think again.
