In both design and deliverance, the 2009 Honda S2000 is a true sports car that offers great power for daily driving as well. Honda's performance icon, the S2000 is a small two-door two-passenger convertible that stands out for its solid handling, state-of-the-art technology, style and Honda quality and durability. The 2009 Honda S2000 is available in two trim levels - regular S2000 and the lighter, faster S2000 CR.

Power and performance

A rear-wheel-drive vehicle, both the trims of the 2009 S2000 are equipped with a robust 2.2-liter, 16-valve DOHC VTEC 4-cylinder engine that produces 237 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. A close-ratio six-speed manual transmission with a direct linkage for precise shifting and quick throws is standard. EPA fuel economy estimates check in at 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway*.

Body and styling

The 2009 S2000 wears flawless contours and sculpted lines on the exterior. Important exterior features on the 2009 S2000 include chiseled nose; high-intensity discharge headlights; leather upholstery; and lightweight 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels. For 2009, the S2000 is offered in six colors - Silverstone Metallic, Laguna Blue Pearl, New Formula Red, Berlina Black, Rio Yellow Pearl and Grand Prix White. A removable aluminum hardtop replaces the convertible soft top on the 2009 S2000 CR. The 2009 S2000 CR gets a lighter and stiffer design to maximize power on a racetrack. The interior of the 2009 S2000 features standard headrest speakers; Maintenance Minder system; Drive-by-Wire throttle control system; outside temperature gauge; and an engine start button. XM Satellite Radio is offered as a dealer installed option. Air conditioning and an AM/FM/CD audio system are standard on the regular S2000 and optional on the S2000 CR for weight saving. The S2000 CR sports traditional racecar themes inside the cabin.
